Working with Words Homework
Directions
1. Have your child cut out individual letters at top of paper.
2. Ask him/her to make a two-letter word with the cut-apart letters.
3. He/she writes that on the lines under "Make words"
4. He/she then makes another 2-letter word, writes it down, and then 3-letter and so on.
5. Under the "sort" section (#2), he/she needs to add a letter to make a word that ends in that word family (i.e. "at"), then another word (i.e. "an").
6. Under the "transfer" section (#3), your child needs to read the sentence and figure out which ending to the word makes sense.
7. Put the worskheet back in the homework notebook (you can throw away the letters)
8. This is due on Mondays!
